Position

Operations Director, Project Director, Head of Delivery. Owns delivery of programmes and is judged on team capacity and project margin. Often newly promoted from a senior delivery role.

Place

UK construction, infrastructure and built-environment businesses with £20m to £250m turnover. Regional HQs across the South East, Midlands and North West. Commonly active on civils, rail, energy, water and highways programmes.

Path

Came up through technical or delivery roles. Limited formal experience of running a hiring process. Has been burned by slow agency hiring or a high-profile mis-hire. Trusts people they have worked with before.

Preferences

Phone and short in-person meetings. Reads LinkedIn but rarely posts. Responds well to specific market data and named comparator hires. Avoid jargon and long-form email.
